3rd May 2016
On Saturday I held my first charity fundraiser to help me reach my £3000 target in aid of The Stars Appeal (read my Inca Trek Challenge blog to find out more). I teamed up with the lovely guys at Stonehenge CrossFit in Salisbury and they hosted a friendly in-house competition.
The day started with me standing in front of a box full of people welling up and fighting to keep it together, it was so overwhelming, and I was grateful to every single person stood in front of me that were willing to give up there Saturday and donate their hard earned pennies to such a worthy cause.
The competition consisted of 3 workouts and the top four teams of the masters and individuals went on to fight it out for top spots in a 4th and final workout! The masters had 2 team members and the individual teams had 3 team members
40 squat cleans @ 30/20kg
30 burpees over bar
30 squat cleans @ 40/30kg
30 burpees over bar
20 squat cleans @ 50/40kg
30 burpees over bar
This was disgusting and my legs were burning at the end of it!
One team member had to row continuously for 8 minutes.
The other two had to complete maximum reps for shoulder to over head. 35kg for men and 25kg for females.
My shoulders did not thank me for this workout on Sunday!
Time for a much needed lunch break. The weather was kind to us, the children were kept amused on the bouncy castle and for a small donation we all got our first (mine anyway) BBQ of the season!
1.5 mile on the air assault bike
10 rope climbs
50 deadlifts @ 90/70kg
8 rope climbs
100 hand release press ups
6 rope climbs
75 jumping squats
4 rope climbs
50 jumping pulls ups
This was my first proper time on an air assault bike, don’t recommend it if you like breathing!!
Drumroll….the results were in and my team ‘BBQ or Bust’ finished 5th, which meant we were saved from the horrendous 4th and final workout!!
75 synchronised knee raises
50 ground to overhead @ 40/25kg
50 synchronised box jumps @ 20”
50 snatch @ 40/25kg
25 synchronised burpee to plate
50 thrusters @ 40/25kg
One word. Disgusting.
I want to thank Katy from Retail Toolbox for providing a generous amount of goodies towards the raffle prizes, Carl from SGF Speedropes for donating 2 x gift vouchers, and for Boundless Clothing turning up on the day who have now said they will offer military discount, WINNER!
The day was a huge success and an amazing £521.86 was raised from everyones generosity and I want to thank everyone that was involved, those that competed, supported, donated, baked, however you were involved, THANK YOU.
I’ve known Aishlen now since 2014 and she is the most energetic, outgoing person I know! Having struggled for a number of years with injury and everything that comes with it, I went to Aishlen for help. I initially saw her for individual PT sessions and nutrition and saw and felt a difference within a couple of weeks. Due to work commitments I had to stop going, however, enlisted her help again a month ago for some online personal training. I am now happy with the nutrition side of things but still needed something to follow in the gym. I received a month long programme which I have nearly completed apart from one session and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The sessions are progressive and easy to follow and I am excited about the next month ahead with my second online programme. Aishlen is always on hand to provide advice and guidance where required and nothing is too much hassle for her. If you are looking for some inspiration to kick start the new you for the new year then look no further, you won’t be disappointed. Aishlen takes pride in everything she does and always gives 110%. There is no judgement only encouragement and every programme is tailor made for you and your commitments. Thanks Ash and I look forward to working with you for the foreseeable future.
First of all, before I continue my review I must just say a massive thank you to Aishlen for helping me motivate myself back into a health & fitness regime.
I reached out to Aishlen a few months ago, just for some simple tips, advice and information on how I could not only lose a bit of weight but gain fitness and most importantly adopt a healthy food plan. And Aishlen was more than happy to guide me.
She asked me a bunch of questions about my lifestyle without being invasive and made me comfortable to answer honestly and then she tailored the right kind of plan to my day to day needs. Once that was in place, I got the ball rolling. Aishlen would check in on me a good few times a week to see how I was getting on without being pushy, always made sure I was comfortable with the work out plans she had given me to do in the week and see how I was adjusting to the food plans also. She'd also give me her own extra tips on what she enjoys eating without sacrificing all of the goodies we women love to enjoy.
Once a week then she would have me write down my measurements of bust, weight, hips & thighs. And each week I got to see the difference that Aishlen's plan was making in my body shape.
Aishlen has been fantastic and I strongly recommend her for anyone. Whether you're looking to lose weight, become lean or simply need a new approach to your eating habits. She has the skills to help no matter the individual circumstances.
Literally cannot recommend Aishlen enough! As a busy mum of two Aishlen offered me fantastic support whenever I needed it despite being a working mum herself and a plan that fitted in perfectly with my lifestyle and most could be done around my home! 5-star service without a doubt... Thanks again!
I loved every session with Aishlen. Her knowledge and enthusiasm make for a great basis and I've felt supported the whole way. Sessions are tailored to you and your goals, I've really enjoyed being challenged and incorporating new aspects into my training. The results speak for themselves, but what is best is how I'm feeling in myself and the positivity the training is bringing to my life. A thank you to Ash, and to anyone considering taking the next step - I encourage you to get in touch.
I started with Aishlen six weeks after having my second baby and loved the fact that she understood how difficult it is to get back into exercise after a c section especially. She helped me break several bad eating habits and made me revaluate what I was eating. I never feel like I'm on a diet or going without, just being healthier. She's always so positive and never makes you feel bad if you have a bad eating day. Would definitely recommend.
WOW! I have been training for a little while on my own at home! And I made a big difference! I asked Aishlen for some advice on how to shift some podge around the belly and tone up more! She fully understands that I have two small children and me and my partner both work! So she helped me rewrite the program I was doing and taught me how I should eat! I have only been doing this one week and although there has been times I really didn't like Aishlen at all because it was hard it was so worth it! You are amazing thank you so much! This is just the start of a journey x
